A Piece O' Cake

Amazing cake...it was beautiful and so delicious...I was more than pleased with the overall outcome with it.

Kelly is an amazing designer! I was so impressed with her talent. Her and her staff bake some of the most delicious cake I have ever eaten. All of our guests loved it! Kelly is very patient and flexible. We had to make changes to our cake as our count changed and she gladly helped us find the right size. Our cake had a modern-organic theme to it and Kelly got it perfect. The cake was delivered on time and was set up beautifully on the cake table. I recommend A Piece O' Cake.

Kelly is an artist. My daughter explained what she was looking for, which was definitely not a cookie cutter cake, and Kelly understood it perfectly. The cake was stunning and delicious.

We had a long engagement and I decided very early on to work with Kelly, which meant she got a lot of emails from me for probably almost 2 years. She was always quick to respond and helpful with my questions. When we had our first meeting, I had a few examples of what I liked but didn't necessarily know what I wanted specifically. She took note of everything, and fast forward to the wedding day...I was absolutely stunned when I saw my cake and it was simply perfect. It was truly "me." She took my "this and that" preferences and made a wonderful product. I was a little nervous about not knowing precisely what I'd get, but have learned that sometimes it's a good idea to just let the experts do their job! I had a beautiful yellow fondant cake with pink flowers and white detail. The flavors were wedding white and kahlua fudge. We also had an awesome groom's cake for my husband, a chef. It had a chef's hat, towel, knife, and a steak. That one was lemon cake with passion fruit filling. We got so many compliments on the design and flavors of both and I couldn't have been happier that we chose A Piece O' Cake. We also got macarons as favors, and they were very well made with our initial beautifully piped on them. Not to mention tasty! I think that Kelly and her staff are a great asset to the Lansing area. I would eagerly recommend them to anyone and believe our experience was worth every penny. My only complaint is that we live out of state and I can't stop by for a cupcake every now and then. :)

I had A Piece O' Cake make my wedding cake and a special Philadelphia Flyers themed groom's cake, and they both far surpassed my expectations. The wedding cake looked exactly like the drawing and what we discussed, and I couldn't have been more impressed and happy with it. Plus, the cake was delicious, and I received numerous compliments on the flavors we chose. I am glad that we made the cakes a little larger than we needed because we had more than enough cake for our brunch the next day. The groom's cake was impressive and the Flyers logo was PERFECT. It looked just like I had hoped, and it was a big suprise to the groom, who had no idea that it was going to be there. Thank you to Kelly and her team for doing such an amazing job!

Kelly is awesome. She recommended a local glass blower who made me a custom cake stand (which is a great memento) and worked with him to get the stand and make sure everything made it to the restaurant. She transported the cake to Ann Arbor for me and set it up. Everything was beautiful and we got lots of compliments on our tasty cake. The cake (yellow with toffee and caramel) was moist and delicious and surpassed my expectations.

Our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious! My husband and I only got to taste it the night of the wedding (just the piece we cut into together) but we heard rage reviews from all of our guests! We froze the topper and decided to save it for when we got back from our 2 week honeymoon... it still tasted amazing! Even after being frozen:)

We chose Kelly to create our wedding cake because when we went in to do a tasting, the impression she left on us was that she was super detail oriented. We described exactly what we wanted and even though it wasn't the most elaborate cake she's probably made, it was the most beautiful cake.They may have been a little on the high side in terms of prices but I would rather pay more money for better cake than less money and be disappointed.I would definitely recommend you to any Lansing Area bride!

Our cake was beautiful and delicious. It was at the reception hall far ahead the reception so I didn't have to worry about it being late. When I needed to add a few servings on, it was easy to just order a little extra. We've gotten a lot of compliments on it!

Kelly was awesome in creating a surprise cake for my wife for our rehearsal dinner. I went to MSU and my wife went to UofM, so of course we had to have something to show off our competitiveness. She did a great job incorporating that theme into the cake and all the flavors were delicious!

This was the best tasting cake I found during my search. I wasn't planning on spending so much on cake since I was on such a tight budget, but after tasting and seeing there was no turning back. A Piece O' Cake was extremely flexible when I wasn't sure about the design for my cake in allowing me to get with them about the colors and helped me work through the design that would meet our style. When my fiance lost his battle to cancer A Piece O' Cake refunded our deposit.

Our cake was NOT what we wanted. Didn't write down what we wanted and didn't even match the picture we wanted. (She wrote it down, but failed to include the big picture.) When I inquired about the incorrect design, she blamed it on us, saying that we didn't TELL her to make it that way even though we pointed to the picture and said "WE WANT THAT". Instead of being accountable for her poor administration skills, she blamed the customer and told us what we wanted. She is INCAPABLE of making elaborate cakes. Unprofessional and overrated. I was not able to work with them personally since I was out of state, but they were very flexible with scheduling tastings for my mom and sister, and were willing to work with my family so we could even have cheesecake (a must for at least the bride:))! I found them a bit pricey, but probably because I don't know how much wedding cakes normally cost. They have great options for gluten-free needs and tried to work with my lactose-intolerant guests also.

We had the BEST wedding cake. They made a small wedding cake for us to cut and the table was showered with cascading cupcakes. They chose the design and it was perfect. Sparkly, pink, red, trendy, modern, gorgeous! It was absolutely perfect!!! Everyone should use this bakery!!!!
