I am so happy that I got to work with Amy Carroll -- in my mind, she was the second most important vendor on the day of our wedding. (The first most important vendor would be Jamie Kirby of Heyday Event Labs -- she's the one who suggested Amy!) Amy's photos turned out exactly the way we expected from her website: modern but romantic, flattering but still showing our real essences. We met Amy when she drove out to Chicago for our engagement session; even though I was really nervous, Amy put me at ease and I had so much fun and the pictures turned out beautiful. She also listened to us when we talked about what types of pictures we wanted, and then she did whatever it took to capture those pictures. We explored our neighborhood, visited a friend's roofdeck, and played in traffic at least once. On the day of our wedding, Amy and the second shooter she brought, Jeff, helped everybody feel comfortable, kept an eye on the timeline, and took more than a thousand beautiful photos. Amy Carroll is an unbelievable photographer. She did an amazing job with our engagement and wedding photos. Amy has the eye to capture the perfect pictures. She really did a nice job capturing our wedding day and all of the special moments.

I don't have a negative thing to say about Amy (and Jeff who helped with both our engagement photos and wedding). Amy is a pleasure to work; she's fun, creative and very professional. We're anxiously awaiting our preview of wedding photos but I have no doubt that we'll absolutely love them all. Amy is flexible (she did our engagement shoot where we live in Chicago and allowed us to slightly adjust the package we chose for our needs), very easy to get a hold of via email, and is overall a pleasure to work with. Amy's work is beautiful but I was very disappointed in her response time when I contacted her about photographing my wedding. Emails went weeks unanswered and voice mail messages were never returned. We ended up going with another photographer because I was too nervous that this kind of lack of concern for communication with a client would continue into my wedding. Beautiful photos, just poor service in my opinion.

When picking out a photographer for my wedding, there was no looking. I had known before I was engaged that I wanted Amy. She had done my best friend's wedding and I knew EXACTLY what to expect. Amy is the most warm and outgoing person I honestly have ever met. She doesn't feel like a wedding vendor, she feels like one of the gang. I think hiring a photographer is about the quality of photos but also about their personality. You have a win-win with Amy. She is extremely talented and she has such a sweet personality. She makes sure the BRIDE is happy. I know that whenever I need a photographer in the future, Amy will be my go-to girl. She's fabulous!!

I can't say enough good things about Amy Carroll! I have only seen my preview pictures which she posts on her blog 10 days after the wedding and I am ecstatic! I planned a destination wedding on Mackinac Island from Kentucky so was never able to actually meet with Amy face-to-face. I found her on wedding wire and emailed her to see if she would be willing to travel to Mackinac Island to which she responded very quickly with a yes! We spoke on the phone when I booked her and I knew from that conversation she was very professional and great at her job. I could tell by the pictures on her website that I was going to love how the pictures turned out. I would absolutely recommend her to any bride looking for a photographer. She was so much fun on the wedding day and made me and my husband feel totally at ease shooting with her, which shows in our pictures. The wedding day flew by and it's the pictures I have that help me remember all the emotions I was feeling that day and all the wonderful memories I can now hold on to. Amy was a pleasure to work with! She is extremely professional and always very quick to respond to emails or other messages. She made us feel extremely comfortable the day of the wedding and knew exactly what had to happen and when. She captured so many great moments at our wedding and reception, yet I never noticed her while the things were happening. She stayed "out of sight" yet was able to capture so much! I was recommended to Amy by a family member and I am so glad that I found her. She is very creative and I could trust her judgment. My pictures turned out beautifully! Amy is so awesome and SOOOOO easy to work with. She makes you feel comfortable in every shoot and captured the intimate shared moments between my husband and I on our wedding day. She knows exactly what to do to insure that you don't look posed and stiff and to look more natural even if you're posed. A+ in my book. Definitely would have her do more work in the future!

I was very happy I selected Amy as my photographer for my wedding day. Since my husband and I are not very imaginative it was great that Amy took charge and gave us a lot of helpful hints to make our pictures beautiful. Our pictures turned out amazing and the turn around time was very quick. I would recommend using her for a wedding or anything that you would like captured.

Amy is amazing - seriously. She is such a sweet, kind-hearted person who is willing to work with you and is easy going and flexible. She is extremely talented, as you can see by looking at her blog. She and her second shooter, Jeff, were very calming and great to have around! We were running late the morning of our wedding, so we did not get pictures downtown before the ceremony as we'd hoped. However, she knew we really wanted them, so after finishing family pictures directly after the ceremony, she ushered us into the limo and jumped up front with our driver, getting him downtown as fast as we could to make up for lost time and get some great urban shots. We were able to get to 2 or 3 different places in the hour or so that we had between the ceremony and reception, which was amazing. We also got some of our best shots downtown, so I am very glad she made a point to get us down there and fit these pictures in!! I have never heard a bad word about Amy, and if she is in your budget, I highly recommend that you contact her (did I mention she doesn't charge a travel fee throughout the state of MI?!)!!! Our preview was up on her blog within 2 weeks (ahead of schedule) and it was amazing - we were blown away by the pictures!!!

We booked Amy Carroll before we booked our ceremony or reception venues, that's how important it was to us to have a GREAT photographer. We were referred by friends in Grand Rapids, but Amy travelled to the Chicagoland area for our wedding. The galleries on her website will make you tear up, that's how amazing her pictures are. She truly has an eye for it, loves what she does, is sweet and easy to work with (tells you what to do so you don't feel awkward!), and can make anyone look good! Photojournalistic meets Art. I cannot count the number of compliments that I have received about our photos...and that's just from the preview! Amy was FANTASTIC to work with - I would highly recommend her to anyone. She has an amazing eye, kept the bridal party engaged, and is not afraid to do anything for the perfect shot ... and this includes, climbing trees in heels, stopping traffic, laying down in the road, and asking street bongo players outside a cafe if the bride and groom can play. One of the things I most excited to show off is my wedding photos.
