There aren't enough stars in the world for Jamie Lou Kirby of Heyday Event Labs. Jamie and Heyday exceeded every expectation I possibly could have had for our recent wedding -- my only regret is that I didn't hire her the day after we got engaged! From the moment I met Jamie Lou, Heyday Event Labs took the worry out of the wedding process. In the ~ six months I worked with Jamie, she served as a wedding planner, decor expert, florist, cheerleader, and confidant. Even though wedding planning can be stressful, I actually looked forward to her weekly calls. But, let's start at the beginning: I interviewed several wedding planners, and the reason why I initially hired Jamie Kirby / Heyday is because she was so thoughtful and kind. My mom had just had knee surgery, and Jamie noticed little details and made her more comfortable at the restaurant where we met her. I also loved that she seemed to "get" what we wanted for our wedding. She took notes and listened, which really contrasted with one of the other wedding planners I spoke with, who literally wanted me to send fabric samples for tablecloths before even talking with me. No thanks -- that's a level of detail that we really didn't want to have to worry about, and hoped a wedding planner would protect us from having to think about. I also knew from the way that Jamie helped my mom that she would do a great job of making sure our wedding guests felt comfortable. I'm so glad I followed my initial impressions, because hiring Jamie and Heyday was a fantastic decision. She made wedding planning--this thing that had be so burdensome and stressful--fun! Jamie's cheerful attitude and down-to-earth approach made getting our wedding planned so much easier. The vendors she recommended did a phenomenal job, and it was so clear that they worked incredibly well together to make our wedding look beautiful and go smoothly. Beyond being the best wedding planner / event coordinator we could possibly imagine, Jamie and Heyday Event Labs went way, way above and beyond. For example: - Jamie volunteered to put together all wedding flowers when I freaked out about how expensive they were in the magazines. Then, when I changed my mind about what I wanted 2 days before the last day to order flowers, partly because she suggested that I wasn't all the way in love with our previous plan, she gave me 10 other ideas, and I settled on a combo of two of those ideas. She ordered the flowers the next day and kept everything on time and within a reasonable budget. I saved so much money by having Jamie do this instead of hiring a florist...and there is no way the flowers she put together could have possibly been any more beautiful. She did a ridiculously good job. - When I asked Jamie for advise for how to make my quiet, rural family feel more comfortable during times when they would be in the spotlight, she had very practical ideas that really worked. - Seriously: she drove down to my venue (2+ hours away) to get a better feel for what the venue is like and to talk to the venue manager. I think this made all the difference in the world, because everything looked beautiful on the day of the wedding. - Ultimately, Jamie found my baker, officiant, photographer, caterer, makeup artist, and probably more. Her judgment was fantastic, and she helped with difficult conversations when necessary with any vendor. - Jamie also made it possible for my now-husband to participate as much or as little as he liked. He was involved in all of our weekly calls, and she did a great job keeping him involved but also making sure that we got everything done in the timeline necessary. - A few days before the wedding, our organist left the state to care for an ailing relative. Jamie somehow found somebody to take over the job, for less money, and he did a great job. She also picked out the silent movie we played during the organ music at our untraditional venue (it had a pipe organ! and was a theater!) and it was so hilarious and cute, I don't even know how she found it. - I can only begin to imagine how many hours Jamie worked on the day of our wedding. She setup our nontraditional venues to look gorgeous, and transformed them into exactly what I'd pictured. Jamie also kept the timeline going and made everybody comfortable. If you are looking for an event planner who will make your guests comfortable, reduce your stress, keep things fun, make sure your wedding is gorgeous, and stay within budget, Todd and I absolutely 100% recommend Jamie Kirby...

Jamie at Heyday Event Lab is simply the best! My groom and I were planning our wedding in South Haven from a few hours away, and Jamie was recommended to us as a more creative / less traditional wedding planner option. Jamie was just incredible - friendly and really professional, and always accessible via phone or email. Jamie offered great recommendations of local vendors - when we we starting to panic, she tracked down the photographers, floral designers,and DJs who were available and fit our budget. In the midst of the wedding craziness, I relied on Jamie to help us focus on the most important elements of the ceremony and reception. On the wedding day, Jamie and her assistant worked like crazy to set up everything for our beach wedding and raw reception venue (an old factory). Although I had been stressed out before the wedding, I felt relaxed just before the wedding because I knew everything would work out under Jamie's supervision. After the wedding, several family and friends commented on how impressed they were with Jamie - I couldn't agree more. I would recommend Heyday to anyone looking for a talented, capable, budget-conscious, and creative wedding planner.

Jamie is the hardest working gal on the west side. She is funny, charming, and down to earth. Easy to work with and great at putting a stressed bride at ease. When the rain came - Jamie and her assistant Terry went into high gear, when the wine key broke - she had a handy pocket knife, when my mom wanted to do things Jamie knew I wouldn't want - Jamie fought for my side. Long story short, my wedding day would not have happened had Jamie not been there. No exaggeration. I recommend her services 100%.

I highly recommend Heyday Events Lab for all brides looking for a wedding coordinator in Michigan. I was an out-of-town bride and Heyday Events Lab made it the most stress-free day, handling all of my on-the-spot needs as well as providing ideas and vendor connections that perfectly matched my vision of the day. The whole day was absolutely flawless and working with Jamie is a pleasure! I could not have asked for anyone else to help with my special day. I used Jaime as my day of coordinator so that I wouldn't have to worry about anything on that day. She come through with flying colors. She was intrested in knowing everything about my day to make sure that it all went off without a hitch. She did anything that I asked of her and she was very friendly. At the end of the night she even helped by packing everything up for us to pick up the next day. She is worth the price 10x's over. I would recommend her to anyone!!!!

We hired heyday (Jamie) for our day of coordinator. Her and her assistant were AWESOME! My husband was a little skeptical, he didn't think that we needed anyone for the day of but after our wedding even he said that they were worth their weight in gold! I was a super detailed bride and Jamie understood that and listened and took notes. She got my vision and made it happen flawlessly! Jamie's assistant was my BFF for the night getting me anything that I needed. My goal was to be stress free and because of Jamie & Terry, I was! They were so much fun and fit right in - I had so many compliments and none of it would have happened (so easily) without them. They even helped my mom load up and take everything home for us so that we could enjoy ALL of our wedding night. I would recommend heyday to anyone getting married or throwing a sweet party - for ideas, day of, or the whole shebang!

Jamie was awesome!! She is the most creative and detailed orientated person I have met. Everything she touched, designed and was a part of was beautiful. Planning weddings is what Jamie was meant to do- she did an amazing job from beginning to end.
