D James Productions

I was all too excited when I was first in contact with James. Everything seemed right on target with what we wanted for our wedding. As we got closer it became impossible to get in touch with him. Finally, after 2 weeks of calling, leaving messages and recieving texts from him saying he couldn't get a hold of me (which was a sad untruth-being that I was recieving 30+ other calls a day) I was able to reach him by calling from a number he didn't know-the night before our wedding. During that call he assured me all was on track, and we had a good comfirmation of what we wanted/didn't want. When my husband and I arrived at our reception we were blindsided by the DJ (who was NOT James) telling us, "Welcome to your reception....I don't have the songs you wanted." Great way to begin our reception. Not only did he not have our music, he didn't listen to my request that all songs were RADIO version (so my kids and grandma heard cursing and obscenities-all night!), he didn't play songs that were requested-and hell, he didn't even pay the genres of music we wanted. I understand that this DJ was called to do our wedding only an hour before he had to be there, and so it wasn't his fault if James hadn't prepared him. However that is when the stories began. First I was told DJ James was ill, then after speaking with his manager I found out he was actually double booked with a MSU v. UoM gig and decided to stay with that. Then (here's the cherry on top) James texted me @ 1:40AM on my wedding night!!!! Apparently it was THAT important to let me know that he was sick and sorry. I cannot tell you how unhappy EVERYONE involved was. Music is a huge part of my family's life-and we had been looking forward to our wedding for 13+ years, so to have such an amazing let down and then the complete unprofessionalism along with it was awful. I would absolutely NEVER recommend this DJ company. Out of everything from that day this was our only let-down...which is great I suppose, but still not acceptable.

James was the DJ for our wedding on November 7, 2009. He was great! Lots of energy and even played Kenny Chesney for me :)We had a great night!!!

We had D James himself as our wedding reception DJ. He did a great job, played the few things we had requested, and did a wonderful job playing the rest of the night. Our dance floor was always full and dancing is one of my favorite memories of the night! He was very professional, discreet, and easy to get along with.

D James Productions did an AWESOME job at our wedding!!! They pleased us 120% and all of our guests!

James did a great job DJ'ing at our wedding! He really paid attention to our "do-not" and "must" playlist, and we really appreciated his attention to detail with the music. James had great suggestions for our first dance and introduction songs, and kept a great energy going all night! The reasoning for four stars on Responsiveness is that he was hard to reach on email and his phone. He would always return the email/call, but it would usually take a while. Overall, however, we would 100% recommend James as a DJ. He really knows his stuff. Thanks again!

When we met with James, we had a very nice meeting. We felt like we were going to be well taken care of and that he understood what we wanted for our day. He was not going to be our DJ, instead he sent someone he said would take care of us. When we arrived at our reception, our DJ was polite but rather scattered. He also was not great at intoductions. Overall we were disappointed with both the music selection and keeping our guests informed at when things were happening. We would highly suggest meeting the actual person who would be the DJ and hopefully your day will turn out better than ours did.

Very fun DJ and had our wedding dancing all night long...

James was a nice guy. He was scattered and forgot appointments leaving us waiting for over an hour and half. He promised he would match our DJ perfectly to our taste. The day of our wedding the DJ, who we had never met, showed-up in a sweater vest...that should say it all. He did not play any "newer" music even when my husband and I personally requested something that was of our generation. The lead to a basically empty dance floor. I would never recommend this company. I know James is a nice guy, but the DJ was the one aspect of our wedding that I really would like the chance to re-do.

They made the atmosphere awesome, they stuck to what i wanted and what i didnt. on time and setup perfectly.

He was very cool. Our guests were dancing all night. We loved him.

We got married2 1/2 yrs ago and these guys were great. They met with us prior and went over a play list with us and pretty much customized our list to our taste (and that's not easy to please since my husband has such a broad taste in music. They also stuck to the DO NOT PLAY list, which I really appreciated.My husband had a surprise for me and sang to me. Him and the DJ had everything all worked out prior and things went great. They were professional and very polite. I even recommended them to my sil when she got married this year and things were still just as great!!!!
