Nine Mile Smile

Nine Mile Smile is AMAZING! I cannot say enough good things about them. My first experience with Nine Mile Smile was at my sister's wedding in June 2011. They were a hit. When I got engaged, Nine Mile Smile was one of the first vendors I contacted as I knew I just had to have them play at my reception too. They were extremely professional and always responded to my questions in a very timely manner. And, they sound simply wonderful. If you're getting married and are in search of the perfect band, Nine Mile Smile is for you. Call them!!!!

I worked with Kurtis from Nine Mile Smile and he was incredible flexible and fun to work with. My fiance and I really wanted to add some horns and he was able to set that up. Our wedding guests are still talking about how amazing the band was. Live music is such a great break from the norm and there are some extremely talented individuals in the band.

I was the groom of a wedding in August of this past summer (2011) and was given the duty of finding a band. As soon as I contacted Kurtis with information regarding the band, I received nothing but professionalism from him or the rest of 9-Mile Smile. As the year wore on, I became very busy and had a difficult time responding in a timely manner to Kurtis' emails, yet I never received any negative vibes from him regarding my tardiness.We asked for a few specifics regarding songs or things we would like them to do for us at the reception, and they had no trouble with any of our requests.On the day of the wedding, they were nothing short of awesome. There were always more people on the dance floor than there were sitting down and were just a lot of fun.Dozens of people came up afterward telling me what a great job they did.If I knew anyone having a wedding in Michigan, there is no way I couldn't recommend 9-Mile Smile.

Not only were they reliable and professional, they were a heck of a good time. We wanted a band at our wedding because it always provides for a great atmosphere- if the band is good. Nine Mile Smile still has people sending my wife and me texts, emails, and Facebook posts expressing how much fun they had and how great the band was.They learned and played my favorite song, and even let me get on stage and sing it with them! It really is crazy how much our guests commented on the awesomeness of Nine Mile Smile! We are so happy we picked them!

We had Nine Mile Smile at our wedding reception on 6/4/11 in East Lansing, MI. From the moment I first contacted NMS for information, to the last song they played at our reception, they were FIRST CLASS. Everything was handled in an incredibly flexible yet professional manner. They were responsive to all of our questions and requests, they were on-time to the wedding, dressed appropriately for the occasion, and the most important part - the music was AWESOME! Everyone who attended our wedding was raving about the band (and continues to). We've been asked by a couple of our friends who were at the wedding for the bands info because they are getting married soon and loved NMS so much.They also were really cool in that they learned five songs of our choosing just for our event - in addition to their long song list. This really made a difference to us and was so appreciated.I could go on and on, but in a nutshell, if you go with NMS, you can't wrong. NMS was a more than a great addition to our May 29 wedding. This band is a class act. Knowing Kurtis as a friend is a blessing, but hearing the band play at our wedding – priceless! The band gets you moving and off your feet, and really enjoying the music. They knew how to read the audience and entertain everyone of all ages. September 16th, 2009 To Whom It May Concern: After hearing Nine Mile Smile in Mackinac Island, we decided to book them for our August 2009 wedding in Northern Michigan. Through the entire planning process Kurtis was an amazing help & direction as to how we should plan the reception- giving suggestions from setup to logistics- he was a huge help & made the process extremely easy. He was very easy to communicate with as well as being very professional & easy going at the same time. The day before the wedding the band was at the reception location setting up for the next day, and were nothing but courteous and professional. The day of the wedding the band was at the location hours before, rehearsing and getting everything set up to make sure it was 100% ready for the evening. During the reception, they were wonderful- everyone at our wedding said that it was the best wedding they had ever been too- in large part because of the band. They were dressed appropriately for the occasion & took lead on many things that I had not thought to take care of. Their professionalism & excellent music was a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders & allowed us and our guests to have an amazing time. The dance floor was packed from the minute they started playing-and we even got them to play a little longer for us! In short, this is an absolutely wonderful group of musicians who give 110% to make your event a huge success. Anyone can hire a DJ, having a band at your event is something people remember long after the reception. They made our wedding everything we envisioned.
