It has been almost 20 years since my first marriage so I was a bit rusty at how to plan another wedding. Aletha was great. I only met with her once and corresponded by email a few times but she gave me some great ideas and recommendations. I found a great hair stylist and officiant through her. I would definitely recommend her services as she is professional, thoughtful, and very concerned about helping you have a wonderful wedding.

Aletha was so helpful and professional. As the wedding day got closer, I had different requests and Aletha did them all.

I can’t thank Aletha VanderMaas enough for all the help and guidance she gave us while planning our daughter’s wedding. I can’t imagine getting thru all the planning, preparation and finally the wedding day without her. Enlisting the use of a wedding planner was like giving ourselves a wedding gift. Preparing for a wedding when the bride-to-be lives out of state makes the role of a wedding coordinator even more valuable. Aletha was wonderful at arranging wedding appointments to accommodate Lauren’s travel schedule. She always made sure that our daughter could take full advantage of wedding planning time while in town. Because of the distance e-mails were an essential part of the planning process and Aletha was flawless at keeping all the communication lines open and our questions and concerns always answered. She also was only a phone call way when stress got the best of the mother of the bride : ) Aletha keep everything organized and moving along smoothly. She is very detailed, well connected in the wedding industry and has the ability to stay calm and always smile and laugh. Working with Aletha was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend her. She listened to our daughter’s ideas and dreams for the wedding and worked with Lauren to make her wedding day absolutely amazing!

I notice every little detail and Aletha did an amazing job taking care of all of them. The day after the wedding my new husband and I both said that everything was either exactly how we expected it, or better! I had a lot of ideas but no clue about how to carry them out, Aletha was able to point me in the right direction. She was great at recommending the vendors she thought would work best for me, this was so helpful in controlling the confusion and stress of decision making. I can’t imagine how the day would have turned out without her, I know it would have been a million times more stressful and not nearly as beautiful. I was planning my wedding from out of town and contacted Aletha primarily by e-mail. She was great at responding quickly. I loved her honest responses, I could ask her if ideas were good, bad, or tacky and she’d let me know. She was also great at making time available for me when I was in town. Aletha did an amazing job and I’d recommend her to everyone planning a wedding!

Working with Aletha and Kate was a true pleasure. These girls know what they are doing! Our 14 months of planning was so fun! I will miss them. I would recommend anyone wanting guidance to planning their or their daughters wedding to use Pearls Event. The detail they provide is unbelieveable. Now what we have left.... is a perfect memory of our daughters wedding. Thanks to Pearls Events!

When my mom suggested we consider a wedding planner I thought "Why do we need that, I know how to plan something and want to be invovled." To put my mothers mind at ease I agreed to meet with a few. The first was my stereotypical- "I'll handle everything for you..." kind of meeting and then after meeting and hearing about Aletha I could tell it was the perfect fit. She offered a consulting package as well as day of coordination. The best of both worlds! I was able with the help of my mom to plan the wedding of my dreams. Aletha, Kate, and team were always available to answer questions and advice. I would never have predicted I'd be so calm the day of my wedding, but with the help of Pearls Events and of course knowing my groom was the one for me, put me at extreme ease all day long. My parents, family members, and friends were all able to enjoy the day and not have to worry about a thing because Pearls Events was there to handle everything! On top of support on my wedding day I also have 2 new friends that I plan to see often :)

It has been over a month since my wedding, and I still get compliments on it everyday! Pearls Events must be given all of the credit for directing me to the best vendors, coming up with the most gorgeous event design, and allowing me to be stress-free on my actual wedding day. Aletha and her staff took care of all the details so I was able to be in the moment and truly enjoy my wedding and reception rather than worrying about centerpiece placement and napkin folding :) Without their expertise and advice I would have ended up with a very EXPENSIVE disaster rather than the most AMAZING day ever! From the start of my planning process to the very end, Aletha was there to answer my questions, bounce ideas off of, attend appointments with me, and guide me through all the crises that inevitably came up. I cannot thank Pearls Event enough for all of their hard work and dedication. Hiring you for partial planning was the best decision I made (besides saying yes to Don!)

Aletha and Kate were our day-of coordinators for our daughter's wedding. They did a fabulous job! From filling their car with our "extras" to take to our up north location, setting up the reception site, and not forgetting a thing on my detailed list, they really helped us- especially this MOB- enjoy the day! All I had to worry about was would I trip in my dress or needlipstick ( I didn't and I did!) Many of our guest commented on how sweet and helpful they were, always pitching in with a smile! They kept in touch with our vendors and helped the day go so smoothly!I highly recommend Pearls Events to help you plan a wonderful wedding!

Probably my favorite vendor. Kate really saved the day! I booked Pearls Events for the decorate/set up package knowing that I may not be able to get into our venue the night before. The day of you can't get in until 10am. We dropped everything off on Friday, and then Kate came in the day of and knocked it out of the park! We walked in and our jaws dropped! We made our own centerpieces, table numbers, etc, and we knew everything that was going into the room, but still couldn't quite envision everything together and it was perfect! My sister also had to call her the morning of to check on the centerpiece flowers (like I said, we did them ourselves, and we weren't convinced they'd hold up the way we had done them). Kate confirmed they were mostly dead, so my sister ran down with the extra flowers I'd ordered and Kate met her a few blocks away because of the construction. She swapped out the dead flowers with the good ones, and it was great! Couldn't have been happier!

While I first cringed when my (then fiance) now husband suggested we hire a planner to ease my already busy schedule and overspent budget, I am here to tell you that I would pay for Aletha all over again! We actually started out just hiring Pearls Events for Day of Coordinator, but soon realized the full value this team brings to the table. The best feeling I had was at 3pm the day before my wedding... I showed up at Aletha's house, dropped off all the precious and important items that we'd be using the next day. I remember driving away and thinking "wow, that's it - I'm done and Aletha will make sure everything else goes as plans." My wedding day was so unbelievably stress-free as I could count on Aletha and team to do any and all of the last minute things that popped up and to make sure that everything stayed on time and according to plan. It was also really nice for our parents as they didn't have to run around making sure things were getting done - they were actually able to enjoy the day too.Big value areas for me: helped me interview vendors, which kept me focused and provided an objective opinion; was the only other person besides me that knew exactly how everything was supposed to go (a simple DOC is not able to provide this ... need to have someone along for the ride the whole ride, not just the last mile); because she understood our vision, she was able to make game day decisions without having to bother me; sanity check - we reviewed budgets, timelines, assumptions, etc. I completely trusted her and knew that she would do a great job - and she did!

Aletha was our day-of-coordinator and she is fabulous! She is so genuine and fun to work with. Not only was she super organized, but she stayed calm and handled things beautifully when our officiant was stuck in traffic jam. She went above and beyond for us and even cut our cake with the help of her intern Amy so that my aunts didn't have to miss out on anything during the reception. So sweet! Aletha also was incredibly helpful to me throughout the planning process even though she wasn't my wedding planner! She helped me locate some great vendors and was an essential part of my "dream team" :) Thank you Aletha!

I am so happy we booked Aletha from Pearls Events. We were on a budget so were hesitant to have this service. Aletha saved us so much money! In addition to helping us select our vendors, coordinate the rehearsal, set up the decor and table settings on the day-of, help me with my dress throughout the day, communicate with all the vendors, coordinate the day of events, she poured almost 100 glasses of Champaign, and cut over 100 slices of cake. I didn't know how much work it was to pull off a wedding and thanks to Aletha I still don't! It is amazing just how fast the day goes. I was so thankful for Aletha because she helped me make most of the day. Because she knows weddings in and out, she would say, "this is something I wish I would have done on my wedding day." This type of insight was invaluable. In addition, it was so awesome to have someone else watch the clock making sure the day's events happened. With Aletha at Pearls Events, I was able to be the bride and only the bride!

Our wedding was on a beach in South Haven. With Aletha and her team every thing ran so smoothly. She was there to make sure everyone was in there place and to keep things flowing. They cleaned up every thing on the beach and after the reception. It was a relief to know they were there if anything would have went wrong. And if something did go wrong i didnt not know about it was taken care of. I would recomend them to any bride they do this all of the time they know what they are doing. We were absolutely thrilled to work with Aletha at Pearls Events for set-up and day-of-coordination. Throughout my wedding planning process, she was willing to help with extra things like answering random questions and providing advice. She helped us create the timeline for our day which worked out great. She even taught me how to fold the napkins the way I wanted.I met with her a week before the wedding and went through the plans (ceremony and reception layout, decoration plans, vendor contacts, etc). After that meeting, I felt wonder to have given the details of the day to her to manage. My fiance and I had spent a year and half planning our wedding. It felt great to let it go. We had our wedding at Camp Blodgett. It's a lovely site, but required a lot of set-up. On the day of the wedding, Pearls Events arrived in the morning and set up all the details for the day. When I arrived at Camp Blodgett, I was so excited! The reception hall was set-up perfectly; it was just as I had imagined or maybe even better. The ceremony set-up on the deck was perfect also. Throughout the evening, she kept track of the timeline and kept things running smoothly. She even loaded my gifts into my parent's van. I highly recommend Pearls Events. I was able to have a stress-free day, which is amazing because I'm usually a big stress-ball. It was fantastic knowing that someone else had everything in control. Aletha ensured the day was just as I had planned and hoped for. We couldn't have been happier. Thank you so much!!!

I am not sure what wonderful quality of Aletha's to begin with. I firmly believe that Aletha and her assistant, Tara, were a major reason our wedding was absolutely perfect! Aletha really listened to our worries about the wedding, and kept a sharp eye out for those occurrences during the wedding. She was also great at communicating. I emailed her many times with wedding questions, and she would response quickly and provide wonderful, informative answers. Aletha has a wonderful and commanding personality, which is one of the reasons we hired her. We knew she would not be afraid to be slightly bossy to make sure our day was perfect! Additionally, my mother adored her, and Aletha was part of the reason my mother didn't cry with joy the entire night... If we ever have a vow renewal, we will gladly hire Aletha again to coordinate. She is very talented at her job, and we really cannot thank her enough.

We hired Aletha of Pearls Events to serve as our day of coordinator; and I really wish we would have hired her to provide even more services at our wedding, she was truly an outstanding vendor. Although our wedding day went very smoothly, she and her interns were invaluable sets of hands throughout the day. They took care of details (small and large) I couldn't have planned for, anticipated my needs in ways only experienced wedding professionals could, and worked seemlessly with my other vendors to ensure the day went as planned. All of this was done with professionalism and cheerfulness that amazed me, my family, our guests. Although initially hestitant about needing a coordinator, it was one of the best decisions we made in the planning process. Having someone with you to make sure you can enjoy your wedding day to the fullest extent is a gift every bride should give herself!

Aletha is by far in the right working field! She is by far the best wedding planner that I have ever met! She was there for the Day-of-Coordination and thank goodness for her! My photographer and I had a lot of communication problems and she straightened everything out! She was a lot of help and we don't know what we would have done with out her! At one point I even began to cry and she snapped me out of it really quickly! If I could do it all over again, I would have her do the entire wedding planning! She knows a lot of great vendors and I love and stalk her blog! She is very professional and quick to answer emails! She is there for YOU, not herself! Thanks for everything Aletha!

I would recommend Pearls Events to every bride I meet! Both Chad and I feel that hiring Aletha was the best wedding day decision we made (besides saying "I do" of course!) Aletha helped us have the wedding of our dreams by making sure nothing was over-looked. She has such a passion for weddings and her knack for detail is amazing!
