Fabulous cake here! Barb's cakes taste great and look fabulous! We did mini-cakes for our wedding with beach designs on each cake and a sand castle top cake. It looked beautiful. All our guests were impressed with the look and the taste, so were we! Highly recommended!

AMAZING! That sums up sweet cakes! The inside of the cake was just as wonderful as the outside. Their variety of flavors is outstanding and the taste cannot be beat. Barb was a sweetheart to work with and really made our vision into cake. She even worked with me to create a Guinness cake for my groom which turned out beautiful! People are still talking about how amazing our cake tasted! We took some on our honeymoon and it was still delicious days later! If you are looking for a cake that is not the typical white/chocolate swirl cake like every other wedding cake, than Sweet Cakes is your place!

This is by far the best wedding cake I've ever had... and our guests agreed! Barb was wonderful to work she's so upbeat and full of ideas. We changed our cake design a couple times and she was very accommodating. Our cake exceeded my expectations! It looked beautiful and even more important, tasted great. We had 3 tiers all different flavors. I think the big crowd pleaser was the Autumn Apple Spice cake, in one word: YUM. We also had chocolate with peanut butter cream cheese buttercream, and pistachio vanilla with pistachio crunch buttercream. Really, you can't go wrong with any flavor... the hardest part was deciding which to go with! My only regret was that on our wedding day I didn't have time to eat more than one piece!

I loved everything about working with Barb at Sweet Cakes Design. The tasting was lovely and she was happy to have my dad and best friend included. The flexibility to choose flavors of cake was amazing and everyone loved it! Looking at the pictures, the design on the cake wasn't exactly (very, very close) what I was looking for, but it still looked great and in the grand scheme of things, I was very pleased! I would send all my friends and family to Sweet Cakes!

For our wedding, we had a large tiered display with 3 types of cupcakes and a small cake at the top of the stand for the groom and I to cut. The presentation turned out very well - we really liked how the cupcakes were decorated and the cake design was simple and elegant. I had thought during our initial meeting with Barb (the owner) that we had discussed a different frosting design, but although it was slightly different than I had expected, it still looked lovely. The cake itself was very tasty, although I only got to try a small bite since we were so busy all night (we'll see how that piece in the freezer tastes after a year! ;). We were a bit disappointed in the cupcakes, which we thought should have been more moist. The prices were pretty much on par with most of the other bakeries in the area. Although, there was a miscommunication between Barb and my husband -- he thought she had told him that delivery and set-up cost $50, while actually EACH of those services were $50, for a total of $100. She did refund us a quarter of the price and apologized for not having clarified that. She was overall very nice to work with.

Barb and her staff are outstanding. They created beautiful mini-cakes for our wedding on August 20, 2011. They also created delicious brownies, cake shooters, marshmallows, and cake bites! Our guests could not get enough! Highly recommended!

Barb was very easy to work with - and accomodating of all of our requests! The cake was lovely - and my guests tell me every flavor we selected was Fantastic! ... can you tell I didn't get to eat any cake!?! shame ... i was just so busy with guests ..the only bite I got was when we cut the cake for our photos! ...Key Lime ...it was very good! We were also celebrating our good friends 50th Birthday on our wedding day - and Barb made us a custom cake - he is a musician - so I requested a cake decorated as a keyboard, and sheets of music ... my 'wish' was granted - and the cake was perfect!

We couldn't have been happier with the way our wedding cake turned out! Barb and the Sweet Cakes staff were wonderful throughout the entire process, from cake-tasting, to phone calls to check-in, to wedding day.....couldn't have asked for a better team to work with. The cake was absolutely beautiful, tasted wonderful (so moist!), and was exactly what we wanted. Our guests still comment how gorgeous it was and we can't thank them enough for all their help! Would highly recommend to all brides, as well as for other occasions!

We choose Sweet Cakes Design because they offered cupcakes and we wanted something a little different for our wedding. Barb did an amazing job of taking our funky/rock n' roll themed wedding and making some very beautiful and delicious cupcakes! Our guests were raving about how good they were - and this is coming from a crowd full of cake lovers!!!! If you are looking for a personal touch, amazing service and one of kind sweets - you should highly consider Sweet Cakes Design!!!!

Sweet Cakes baked our wedding cake for our May 2011 reception and it was amazing! Barb was great to work with and in each of our meetings she listened to what we wanted & was very accommodating to our ideas. And the taste...YUM!!! We got a lot of wonderful comments from our guests on how beautiful our cake looked & tasted. They made delicious cakes and I would highly recommend using them!

The cake tasted wonderful as did all the special treats created for us. The guest were in awe by the comments we received on the taste and appearence of how wonderful everything was. Sweet Cakes Design did such a fantastic job with our wedding cake! Barb is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met and she was a joy to work with. She was always very helpful in answering the lists of questions I had regarding the cakes and cake flavors and pricing. We did our first cake tasting about 7.5 months prior to our wedding so we didn't have all the specifics, yet in talking to us and in looking at pictures of other cakes that we like, she was able to design (on the spot sketch) a gorgeous cake for us that fit us perfectly. The cake was delicious... in fact there were so many delicious sounding flavors, we actually had to go back a couple months before the wedding and try more in order to make our decision (we ended up going with almond cake with vanilla cream cheese frosting [actual cake was plus raspberry] and chocolate cake with peanut butter cream cheese frosting - both were incredible). The cake was affordable as we decided to go with one faux (bottom) layer, two top layers were real then an additional two large sheet cakes. My only complaint is that I didn't get to enjoy my cake at the wedding because I was having too much fun - so either make sure you sit and enjoy or pack some up for later! :o)

Barb and her team are fabulous!! We had a gorgeous four tier cake that tasted just as great as it looked. In addition to the cake we had an assortment of mini desserts! We had mini fruit tarts, mini assorted cheesecakes, mini cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries and key lime shooters! All were presented good and tasted even better. I had so many people compliment me on the assortment and especially the fruit tarts! Sweet Cakes was so happy to come up with ideas for the mini desserts and it was perfect for our wedding but would also be great for any kind of party!! Sweet Cakes won't disappoint!

I rated them low on quality of service because the cake design was fairly different from what we discussed in our consultation and the image I provided. Also, I requested a specific cake plate which was not what arrived on my wedding day- with no notification to me that it had changed. I would have to say though that the cake tasted amazing and our guests were talking about it all night long.

Barb and her staff at Sweet Cakes Design are amazing - very professional and kind, with a keen eye towards making your cake fit your personality and your wedding. Our cake was beautiful, and it was absolutely by a LONG SHOT the BEST wedding cake I have EVER had in my life! We came to Barb with ideas of what we wanted - our colors, invitation designs, and napkins - and she was spot on in her designs for our wedding cake. The only issues we had were (1) we had to wait a bit for our designs - but we did start our planning super early, so it wasn't a problem for us; and (2) our cake was late to our wedding...it arrived after the ceremony while people were filing-into the reception area. Wouldn't have been a huge deal if we were having the wedding and reception at two locales, but we weren't....nevertheless, great cake! Just a word of caution - make sure you book super early, because I have a feeling Sweet Cakes Design is going to be booming in the years to come!!

Here's the scoop - a lot of people end up with fondant. It's easier to work with, some things just need it, I understand that. But if you've ever had fondant you know it is pretty icky. We wanted our cake to taste good and look good. We wanted a cake, not just a decoration. So we went to Barb and Sweet Cakes. For a wedding cake, the prices seemed reasonable, especially if you don't want a massive display cake. We had a 3-tier cake and then an extra tier in the back that wasn't decorated, which saved us money (the extra tier was about 1/2 the cost of the decorated tiers). The cakes are fabulous. I'm a bland eater and always hesitant with names like "Lemon Citrus," but try it - it is fantastic. So is the chocolate/white chocolate ganache thing. The flavors are all very light and subtle, not heavy and fake. I was planning the wedding from out of state, but they were very flexible and easy to meet with. The cake looked great, she had a nice ceramic display for us to use, and everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend.

We loved our wedding cake! The flavor was wonderful and the decoration was even better! It was the perfect winter cake and it went so well with our decorations! Barb and her team are very talented and professional! Thanks Barb!

Barb and her team are awesome! I decided to do centerpiece cakes and we got a ton of compliments on them! For how beautiful they were, the prices were amazing, very comparable to other bakeries in town. They were beautifully crafted and each was adorned with a red rose that they hand made. Her cakes are light and soft and the frosting is absolutely delicious. I knew the minute I met with her that I had to have her cake! She is the sweetest lady you will ever meet and truly cares about you and your wedding! I highly suggest using them--once you go in for a tasting, you will never go with any other bakery again!!

Barb was wonderful to work with. I came in knowing what I wanted my cake to look like, but not the flavors. That was the hard part! She did such a good job selling her product at our appointment with her. It was such an easy choice to pick her. Not only was the cake amazing, she was knowledgeable, and her place was clean. It was kind of tricky to find, but worth it. We had a bunch extra that we sent home with the guests. And everyone loved it. One of the first things I did when we got to the reception was running to see my cake with my girls! It was so pretty!

We had mini cupcakes from Sweet Cakes for our dessert buffet. Our caterer was the one that had the contact with Sweet Cakes, and I am glad I trusted her recommendation. The cupcakes were delicious. We had a variety of flavors, including red velvet and spice cake. I wish there had been leftovers to take home.
