Loved working with Andrea at the Downtown location.GREAT value for what you get! The room is brand new and the space is modern. She was willing to meet after 5 for meetings, which I found was invaluable for me, a working bride! She had great suggestions on where to put things in the room. Over all, it was a great experiences. We did not have a single problem with WMU.

We had a wonderful experience with WMU Conference Center Downtown and would not hesitate to recommend the venue to anyone! Its a perfect location that I don't think many people are aware of! Our guests all commented on how cool the space was and and overall layout. In particular the cocktail hour area was a huge hit! Andrea was so professional and easy to work with, she was very responsive to any calls or emails. They do require you to use their contracted caterer and beverage provider, but don't worry both are excellent! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

I can't say enough good things about this venue. I would recommend it to anyone looking for great service. Our wedding planner, Andrea, was especially awesome! We didn't have to worry about anything the day of the wedding. She was also extremely flexible the months and days leading up to the wedding.

WMU provided our reception venue. All of our communications were through Andrea which made things easy. She was very professional and helpful and responded quickly to emails, which helps when you are planning a wedding from 1,000 miles away.The venue allowed us to come early for set up or pay to come a day before to set up. They provided security too. Things ran smoothly and I would recommend WMU graduate center for someone looking to celebrate their special day.WMU only allows you to use their food and beverage vendor. This can be discouraging if you want to bring snacks in for guests after dinner and cake. I would've liked to bring in my own items other than the wedding cake.

We had our wedding receptiong at Western Michigan University's Conference Center in downtown Grand Rapids and it was a wonderful experience. Many people didn't know such a great venue existed, but it really provided us all we needed in affordability, great location, service, decor/ambiance appeal, and overall experience. Andrea Scheckel was always accommodating and able to help with all requests. She was always very kind and easy to work with. Many of our guests were overwhelmed by how exciting and wonderful our wedding experience was and a lot of the credit is due to everything our location and what the workers had to offer. We'd do it all over again if we could!

WMU, Andrea, and Kim were fantastic to work with and very approachable for all of my questions. They were quick to respond and always willing to provide suggestions when asked. They did a tremendous job and everything was amazing. We received so many compliments. I would definately reccommend this again:)

Beautiful place for a wedding reception!

It's a beautiful facility and Andrea, our coordinator, was so very personal and helpful! She walked us through everything, followed up with all details, and made our planning stress-free :)

Andrea Scheckel is the service coordinator at WMU Conference Center and she was an absolute delight to collaborate with throughout the entire experience. She was extremely flexible, easygoing and professional. During the hall set up the day prior to the wedding, she was available to assist as needed and on the day of our wedding she checked in with us an appropriate amount of times to ensure everything was going well. Of all the different vendors I did business with for my wedding, this vendor was the least of my worries. I felt completely confident that things would run smoothly and they did. I would highly recommend the WMU Conference Center as a venue to have an unforgettable wedding reception.

I loved everything about WMU and working with them. I used the downtown location and worked primarily with Andrea Scheckel. She was so helpful and personable, and really went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of! The facility was beautiful and suited what I had envisioned perfectly. So happy to have found this place!!

I had my reception at WSU's Downtown Conference Centers in July 2009. The reception was beautiful and had no complaints about the entire process.

I had a great time at my wedding at WMU! They made the planning process easy and I enjoyed every second. It's in the perfect location right downtown Grand Rapids.

The WMU Conference Center was the BEST place for my wedding reception! From start to finish, they were very friendly & professional! We had the entire building for the reception & had no problems getting in the day before to set things up. I feel that the price is well worth the serves provided and the use of the entire building as well.Andrea was my contact at WMU and I met with her a month or so before the wedding to finalize details and see what suggestions she had. I was able to stop by a few times during the months of planning to take pictures and measurements as well. Andrea provided me with a layout of the main room & lobby area for the reception, helped me figure out who was doing what, and helped reassure me that they would help every step of the way. On the night of the reception, my wedding party was met at the door by another coordinator who was overseeing all the details that night. I had provided them with a rough timeline of events and they made sure everything went off flawlessly! We had a GREAT time and everyone was very happy with the location, the decor & the staff. They were very helpful and hardly seen the entire night! I would have another function there in a heart beat & highly recommend it!

We enjoyed working with WMU for our daughter's wedding reception. Everyone that we worked with was very helpful in answering our questions ahead of time and providing all of the services that we asked for. We appreciated how easy they were to work with. Although I (the mother of the bride) felt a little harried as the time got closer, it was clear that the event coordinator there had everything under control. The reception was beautiful in every way and we (the bride, groom, and families) were able to just sit back and enjoy it!

EXPENSIVE! But beautiful, and lots of decoration options.

They were very professional from the start, making sure we got everything we needed. They were very flexible with last minute arrangements and always returned any calls I made. It was a beautiful building and made the perfect spot for us. My aunt broke her foot that day and they went out of their way to make sure she got the care (and forms) she needed. What a wonderful experience!
