West Michigan Catering did a good job with my wedding. Though, I didn't have a choice as my venue had a contract with them which sort of rubbed me the wrong way. The first person I dealt with would never email me back and would not be flexible on our tasting time (we live in Chicago and it was VERY tough to book a tasting since we weren't willing to take time off work). I understand that weekend tastings can be tough on caterers, but find a way to be more flexible, I'm sure we're not the only out of town clients they've dealt with. Once we made our selections and paid the deposit, the second person we dealt with was extremely helpful, always emailed me back right away and worked within my budget. We were not thrilled with the food we had at our tasting, so went into the wedding night with low expectations but were pleasantly surprised with the result! One last thing, I was approached (mind you, I was the bride) and asked for the remainder of the money we owed. My mom had the check and we paid them on the spot, but my parents were NOT happy that they were chasing me down asking for money. Couldn't they have billed or ran my credit card for the rest? Anyway, only a small detail. Like I said, I don't have anyone else to compare them to b/c we didn't have a choice in caterer, but they did a good job.

Bob and Mary did an awesome job at our wedding on 9-3-11! When Mike and I started working with Bob we wanted to do something unique and different for our wedding. We wanted to do food stations instead of your traditional sit down or buffet dinner. Bob helped Mike and I come up with a menu that was customized to your taste. We wanted a polish station with kielbasa, perogies, and sauerkraut. Our guest raved about this station! He also created a mash potato martini bar which was a huge hit! They also provided us with a late snack stations full of mini chill dogs and all the fixings! Our guest loved the food and were very impressed with the set of all the stations. Bob and his team also provided the bar services for our wedding as well and they did a great job. Considering our menu was customized the price was right! I would recommend Bob and his team to anyone in the West Michigan area that is planning a wedding or event! Thank you West Michigan Caterer for everything!

We went with a buffet and bar at West Michigan Caterer and were very pleased. The other reviewer is right about the bar, it is a wonderful deal compared to pricing at other vendors. But the main attraction really is the food. While the food was a bit cold at our taste testing (it was plated), everything was hot and perfect for our wedding. Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious both the pot roast and the chicken with pepper/mushroom sauce were! I heard an equal amount of compliments for both, so I couldn't even tell you which was the favorite. I also love that WMC offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meal options. A few of our guests are lactose-intolerant, so Mary even arranged to have dairy-free meals for those guests. Everyone at WMC was wonderful to work with. Mary and Bob were very accommodating with our every question and need, and I was so impressed with the wait staff at the reception. Our head waitstaff brought drinks to the wedding party at the head table shortly after we arrived and even brought one of our guests a plate of tomatoes when he found out they loved them. You can't beat that service!

WONDERFUL & TASTY Food! Everyone loved it! Great price & was hot! usually food is always cold when I go to weddings but at mine it was hot & yummy!

We chose West Michigan Caterer and we were very pleased with their services. We used them for our food (we did a buffet) as well as our bar. As far as the food goes, our guests raved about how great it was. The chicken marsala was amazing! The only problem we had was with the lady cutting the other choice which was the roast...she was slow and it slowed the buffet line down, so I wouldn't recommend having someone cut the meat...just have it already prepared. As far as the bar goes, they are a GREAT DEAL! They only charge you what you buy it at the store for and give you left overs (you still pay for a bartender fee/cups ect) but they were by far the best deal for the bar. Mary was also very attentive and paid attention to detail. She re-did my invoice like 5 times b/c I kept changing things. Very very responsive and friendly!! I would definitely recommend WMC!

everyone loved the food!!! I only heard good things from people. however MY chicken was raw, no one else's just the brides, I would recommend them, i'm sure it was just an accident, but I couldn't eat anything because I was grossed out by the food after that

The food was great and everyone at the wedding loved it! However there were some communication issues and lack of responsiveness at certain times.

I'm so glad we went with West Michigan Caterer! We had several people with food allergies and Bob did a great job of working around that. He also helped guide us to food that would be seasonal and appropriate for a late October wedding. The food was delicious. I believe there was one email that wasn't returned right away, but I got my question answer in a later email so it was no biggy.

I've worked with West Michigan Caterer for many work events and knew when I was planning my wedding that they were the caterer that I was going to use - I never even looked at other caterers. I worked with Bobby J to create my own custom menu and was more than pleased with the results. The peel and eat shrimp and the penne pasta alfredo were to die for, as were the bbq ribs with homemade sauce and chicken kabobs. There was no way any other caterer could have beat the price I paid per a person either - I received a great deal!! West Michigan Caterer also worked our bar and they did a great job. I highly recommend West Michigan Caterer.

They were incredible. They were thorough, accommodating and cheerful. Their food was amazing, everyone at my reception loved them I would recommend them to anyone!!!

We were very happy with them. They were nice to meet with and very flexible with the menu. We had really wanted salmon with a dill butter sauce. It wasn't on their menu, but they were happy to make it for us. We chose to have a split entree plated dinner: pork, salmon, risotto cakes, and asparagus. All of our guests were happy with the food. The staff was very professional and friendly. A few of them even went out of their way and got drinks from the bar for the wedding party. They are also reasonably priced. We would highly recommend this caterer.

We were pleased with the buffet, plated appetizers and late-night sandwich snacks we received from West Michigan Caterers. I was a little dismayed to see that my vendors were added in to my per person total (I did give them permission to eat at the reception but didn't realize I'd be paying by the head for them too - I should have asked more clearly up front). The food was tasty and they were very willing to work with us to offer our guests exactly the menu we wanted. Note: their crab cakes, spring rolls and beef skewers are TO DIE FOR!!! They were the tastiest things we had all night, and the other food was nothing to snub your nose at. I recommend this vendor for sure.

The food was great and the company is very fair and professional! They are genuinely concerned with satisfying their customers.

They were fantastic -- the food was delicious, hot, and they never ran out of food (a main complaint of my mom's from my sisters' wedding caterers). The staff was friendly and very responsive. We were so pleased with them that when, a couple months after the wedding when my grandma passed away, we used West Michigan to cater food after the memorial service. They were excellent then too!
